Moerlein Lager House Wins Ohio Brewery of the Year at New York International Beer Competition
Moerlein Lager House Restaurant and Brewery was named Ohio brewery of the year by the New York International Beer Competition at its recent event.
The winning entries were:
- Gold – Moerlein Lager House, Barbarossa Munich Style Dunkel
- Gold – Moerlein Lager House, Saengerfest Maibock
- Gold – Moerlein Lager House, Barrel Aged Baltic Porter
- Bronze – Moerlein Lager House, House Lager
All award winning beers are currently on tap, except for the Barrel Aged Baltic Porter which will be back in the fall as part of the Moerlein Lager House’s Legacy Exclusives lineup.
We take a lot of pride in the beer we brew at the Moerlein Lager House, said Erich Streckfess Head Brewer. Our onsite 15 barrel three vessel brew house has been making some really quality beers and it’s always great to be recognized by your peers, continued Streckfess. The brew house is visible from the entrance of the Moerlein Lager House with fermenters and cold storage located in the lower level fermentation hall.
800+ entries were involved in the competition from both US and international breweries.
